Vicky's of Santa Fe Simply Great American Food
Vicky Laliberte, the namesake of Vicky’s of Santa Fe, with her nephew, owner Marc Laliberte. | Since opening in 1989, Vicky’s of Santa Fe has been offering simply great American food, great service, and great prices, so it is no surprise that the tradition continues as it embarks on its 20th season. Upon entering the dramatic 14-foot double door entry you feel as if you have walked into an adobe styled abode straight out of New Mexico. But once you are seated, you soon change your mind. At first glance the simple menu can be deceiving, yet after some explanation and a few more questions, it becomes clear, this is serious dining! Offerings such as whole Rotisserie Chicken, 16-ounce Prime New York strip steaks, Filet Mignon, center-cut Veal Chops and New Zealand Rack of Lamb will satisfy the carnivore in your party and a variety of seafood entrées will appeal to the more health-concious diner. Old favorites such as Chicken Pot Pie, Liver and Onions, and Sand Dabs, round out a menu that pleases everyone. Side orders and appetizers on the a la carte menu allow you to order as much or as little as you like. The stunning walk-in wine cellar stocks a wide range of California wines from well-known to boutique vintners allowing you to further complement your dining experience. You may also choose your favorite libation or opt for the newest martini concoction from the inviting bar, where many diners choose to enjoy their meal while keeping an eye on the comings and goings of this popular dining spot. Venturing further into the restaurant, the cavernous lounge area beckons. Flanked by dual firelplaces and a nine-foot concert grand piano, the room becomes more intimate with several small seating areas where you can wind down after a day on the links or a post dinner night cap. During the season, Doug Montgomery entertains and packs in a standing-room-only crowd. Vicky’s is more than just a locals’ haunt. From nearby country club regulars who ride over in their golf carts to hotel guests and conventioneers looking for lively entertainment, to the well-dressed theatregoer dining before a show, Vicky’s appeals to everyone. Come see why! |
