You’d normally expect to find one, perhaps two general radiologists at an imaging center, there to review all types of exams. But at Eisenhower Radiology Medical Group, we operate differently. Here we believe that generalists, no matter how well trained, cannot possibly know every organ system in the body. It takes a specialist to provide an optimum outcome. So our medical staff is composed of 17 radiologists with sub- specialties in oncology, neurovascular, women’s health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, cardiovascular — the whole spectrum of imaging techniques. This assures you that the most qualified specialist
is always available to review your imaging results when needed.

Experts in diagnostic imaging At Eisenhower Imaging Center, we use the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art equipment to capture images of the body. This includes an ultra-fast, 64-slice CT scanner and a high-field, short-bore MRI scanner, which provides outstanding image quality and virtually eliminates claustrophobia. We also have the ability to fuse images from multiple modalities in order to provide physicians with the most comprehensive views inside the human body. After careful study of these images, our radiologists can confidently provide the referring physician with important diagnostic information that will help determine the most effective course of treatment.

We are experts in a full range of diagnostic imaging, including CT, MRI, Angiography, Ultrasound, Breast imaging, Nuclear Medicine, and Position Emission Tomography (PET).

Interventional radiology as an alternative to surgery Interventional radiology enables radiologists to diagnosis and treat patients using minimally invasive, image-guided techniques. It’s often used as an alternative to traditional surgery because it means less pain and faster recovery for patients. Our team of highly skilled interventional radiologists is at the forefront of this subspecialty, and we perform more interventional procedures than any other group in the desert. We are proud to have three fellowship-trained interventional radiologists in our group, including Brian Herman, M.D., the valley’s only neuro-interventional
radiologist. The unsurpassed expertise of our physicians results in better outcomes and minimizes the risk of complications for our patients. Our interventional radiology procedures include angiography, angioplasty/stenting (see images to the right), biopsies, acute stroke intervention, embolization, and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty.

There is much to take pride in at ERMG, but we are especially proud of the fact that our board-certified specialists are not only expertly trained, but also exceptional in their fields of expertise. Our renowned doctors practice exclusively at Eisenhower Radiology Medical Group and its affiliate facilities: the Eisenhower Imaging Center and the Eisenhower Schnitzer/Novack Breast Center. Both facilities are located in the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center on the Eisenhower Medical Center campus, and both feature hotel-like surroundings designed with each patient’s comfort and convenience in mind. Two more outpatient imaging locations are in development, one in Rancho Mirage, scheduled to open in the fall of 2008. The other will be an integral part of the new Eisenhower Health Center complex conveniently located on Washington Street in La Quinta; it is scheduled to open in the summer of 2009.
